Customizable app icons for iOS

many of the iOS apps I use allow users to choose between custom app icons, usually to change the color to match a look we’re trying to achieve. I would love it if Firefox gave us a few different app icon options, since it takes a prominent place on my phone’s home screen (and likely for many other users, too). 

Even just option of choosing from the default, the logo with a white background, and the logo with a pure black background would be great.

This is such bs, bring back the old app icon, or better yet, let people decide which icon to have.

Please! Some of the commenters don’t like the black, but some of us are clamoring for this option because we want to go back to the black now that it’s white. Perfect proof that the best thing is to allow us to choose for ourselves.

Hi! I really appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. The icon update was made to ensure consistency and improve adaptability across different system themes, especially after iOS 18.

In the next release, Fx 136, we’ve fixed a minor issue with tinted mode, where only the white icon was displaying. Also, I understand that some users prefer the previous look, and we’re actively listening to all the feedback we’ve received. To address this, we’ll be introducing a new feature soon that lets you choose your icon. We're aiming to have this in 136.1. I will keep you posted.

Hey! Just to close the loop on this: the feature is now available worldwide in all languages. We’re also continuing to add more icons over time! The glass icon was added with the launch of iOS 26, and we’ll be introducing more cool designs soon. Thanks so much for your feedback!
