I started to use Thunderbird, which I love (and support) by the way, as a client for my central CalDAV calendars. I am missing a "little" feature (as if such a thing would exist in software development 😁) for my daily work:
While the existing feature "convert event to task" is nice to have, I think the other way round, "convert task to event" or even better - "create event from task" - would be much more useful.
An example: managing the estate of my deceased parents involves dealing with various authorities. Some of them are difficult to reach - only by phone, and they will never call back themselves (yes, I live in Germany 😁). So instead of keeping to "push" a phone call appointment into the future, I would like to use a todo (task) containing all needed context info, and when the call finally happens, create an event from it. Or many along the way, as documention of my attempts.
I tried dragging a task from its pane to the calendar, but this doesn't work.
Regards,
Markus
