Need the ability to add a local folder to save emails that I don't want accidentally deleted from the Unified Inbox. I do not use IMAP because I just want a local copy that I can delete without the deletion syncing to the server. On my phone I only keep a few important emails, while I use my desktop to keep and manage all others. Do not want the phone deletion to remove an email from the server before it can be saved to my PC. The local folder would be even better than starring emails to keep the important ones until I don't need them anymore. Also, the ability to move select trash emails to that folder, in case I accidentally deleted an important one, it can be recovered. This local folder does not have to sync to anything else, just a means of organizing locally.

I like to use different local folders on different devices. The code to support this is already there in desktop versions as well as laptop, but in Android has been left out.

IMAP is good for those that need an One Size Fits All approach, but for me the phone is for different use cases than a mobile laptop or a stationary PC.

E.g. on the home PC I have a folder for purchase confirmation with subfolders for most vendors. I don't need this on the mobile phone nor on a server.

Also IMAP makes unnecessary folders on the server if it's e.g. in Germany. There the server has already a "Papierkorb" and IMAP wants to have a Trash in additionto that.
