I've been using arc browser as an alternative to FF, and they have a really helpful feature that is a keyboard shortcut to copy the current page link without losing focus from the page and no need of changing your flow.

I've been looking for alternatives, and the closer I found is to execute command +  L and command + C, but even if I don't need to touch the mouse or tab key to copy the link, I lose focus and is not the best experience.

Another nice detail on this functionality is when you use their shortcut (shift + command + C), they remove all trackers from the URL

shortcut to copy url bar data

Hello here,

I am thinking about a shortcut like :
copy url bar adress data without the need to focus it with mouse first.

From my opinion, it would be a best and unique feature.
I use Macro to do it but for lambda user, it will be great !

Was just an idea.

Have a good day

As @zlnk did before, I've been playing around with Arc lately. And this is an outstanding native feature that highly increases productivity.

add keyboard shortcut to copy current URL

zen_browser has this feature which I use multiple times per day every day: keyboard shortcut shift+cmd+c to copy current URL to clipboard.

This is such a useful feature. It helps me save time and speed up my workflows a lot, so much that it's absence in Firefox is preventing me from going back to Firefox.

The feature was implemented in v1.6b back in early 2025 in zen_browser.

Add a quick copy of the current URL shortcut, similar to Arc Browser

I would love to see Firefox add a native shortcut for quickly copying the current tab URL directly to the clipboard without selecting or focusing the address bar.

Arc Browser and some Chromium-based browsers support this with Cmd + Shift + C on macOS (Ctrl + Shift + C on Windows/Linux), and it becomes extremely useful once you get used to it. It makes sharing links much faster and smoother, especially for users who frequently send tabs in chats, notes, research documents, or emails.

There are extensions that mimic such behavior, but I think native functionality would be fantastic and make the browser much more useful.

The currently Firefox workflow requires either:

  • Cmd + L -> Cmd + C
  • Right-click tab → Copy URL
  • Browser extension shortcut

This would be a great addition because it would:

  • Reduce friction for power users
  • Improve keyboard-driven workflows
  • Help Firefox feel more modern and productivity-focused
  • Be especially appreciated by users migrating from Arc, Helium, Zen, and similar browsers (like myself!)

Cmd + Shift + C is currently used for the Inspector tool, so Firefox could either:

  • Allow remapping keyboard shortcuts natively (this would be very useful for other functions within the browser)
  • Add a different default shortcut
  • Let users optionally enable the feature in Settings

Thank you in advance for considering!
