There is a founction in Chrome called 'Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed' . It creates a process in background and occupies less RAM after closing all tabs, which can speed up opening new window. Is it possible to achieve this in Firefox?

My Firefox has loads of bookmarks and about a dozen addons. On a not-too-old laptop it takes 6.2 secs to load. Chrome when running in background takes 3.8 secs. Edge when running in background takes 2.7 secs.

I want my firefox to be my fastest browser. Please let me run it in the background.

I want to close all Firefox windows while still keeping the download running.

I'd love to see this implemented as well. Bitwarden was the reason I found this idea.

Thanks,

Please add option in Settings as it is in Thunderbird

[v] When Thunderbird is minimized, move it to the tray

Will be great in Firefox and Firefox Developer Edition also!
