Hi team,
I noticed a persistent issue with the latest version of Firefox Color (v2.1.7). When applying a custom theme generated by the extension, it aggressively forces internal system pages—such as the Library window (about:downloads, about:bookmarks, and about:history)—to use a light background. Even if the browser itself or the OS is set to Dark Mode, Firefox Color overrides this and washes out these pages in blinding white.
Furthermore, I would like to raise a related, high-priority request: Could Mozilla please allow content-darkening extensions (such as Dark Reader) to run on official Firefox domains, especially the Firefox Add-ons Store (AMO) and extension management pages?
Currently, Firefox completely blocks dark-mode extensions on these official domains due to strict security restrictions, forcing a bright white layout. We understand that modifying the web design itself might be difficult, but simply allowing users to use their own content-darkening extensions would instantly solve the problem and save our eyes when browsing for extensions at night.
Suggested Solution:
Please update Firefox Color's theme generation logic so that it decouples from or stops overriding internal pages (or add a toggle under "Advanced colors" to "Allow internal pages to follow system/browser Dark Mode").
Please unblock content-darkening extensions on official Mozilla/Firefox websites so users can safely customize their reading environment.
Thank you for your time and for listening to the community!
