Vivaldi comes with notes. Even the Firefox fork Floorp has the notes feature. It is such a handy tool to have while browsing and jotting down quickly without opening an additional app/program.
I would like to propose adding a built-in Firefox Notes feature with full Firefox Sync integration.
Firefox used to have the "Firefox Notes" experiment add-on, which many users relied on for quick notes tied directly to the browser. However, the add-on is no longer supported and the Sync backend for it has been shut down, leaving users without any native way to keep simple notes synchronized across devices.
Browsers like Vivaldi already offer integrated notes with cloud sync, and it has become one of their most appreciated features. A built-in Notes panel in Firefox, lightweight and secure, synced through the user's Firefox account, would greatly improve the productivity experience without requiring third-party services.
Why this feature matters:
- quick notes directly inside the browser
- automatic synchronization across devices
- a consistent place for temporary thoughts, URLs, tasks, or reminders
- increases user loyalty by offering a practical feature available in competing browsers
- helps users migrating from Vivaldi or other browsers that provide built-in notes
This feature does not need to be complex. A simple Notes panel, similar to Vivaldi Notes or the former Firefox Notes experiment, but with proper Sync support, would be highly valuable for many users.
