Status: New idea

Amazon has sold millions of Fire TV devices over the past couple of years, and so I think this would be a worthwhile ecosystem to keep maintaining Firefox in. With Firefox no longer available, I believe the only browser available for users is the Amazon Silk browser.

Bring back Firefox for Entertainment Fire TV Channel on devices

Fire TV devices are still pretty limited when it comes to general browsing, but it's exciting to think about future models with better performance. We'd definitely be interested in exploring new ways to bring a fast, lightweight browser experience to more smart TV platforms—especially if the hardware improves.

Great idea—bringing Firefox back to Amazon Fire TV devices would give users a real choice beyond the default Silk browser, especially for those who rely on Firefox’s privacy features and extension ecosystem. Maintaining support for Firefox in the Fire TV ecosystem could also encourage more open web standards on TV platforms.

Speaking of choices, I’ve been enjoying eppi cinema lately—it loads instantly on any device without extra apps, and its clean, user‑friendly interface feels as smooth as a well‑tuned browser. It would be fantastic to see Firefox on Fire TV deliver that same level of performance and simplicity for streaming sites like eppi cinema directly on your TV.
