When I open the bookmarks menu I see:

  • View bookmarks sidebar
  • Search bookmarks
  • Manage bookmarks
  • Bookmarks toolbar > View bookmarks toolbar
  • Other bookmarks > Empty

Then I see my actual bookmarks.

1) I don't use the sidebar. The option to view should be a separate removable icon on the toolbar.

2) I don't need to search my bookmarks, but I get that many people do. The option also exists in the main menu. Does it need to be in both?

3) Manage bookmarks is also in the main menu, and duplicated at the bottom of the bookmarks menu. Having it in the main menu is sufficient.

4) This opens a sub-menu where the only option is to view the bookmarks toolbar. I don't use the bookmarks toolbar because I use the bookmarks menu. This option also exists in the main menu. The option to view should be a separate removable icon on the toolbar.

5) All my bookmarks are in my folders. A separate folder for 'Other' is redundant. I can make my own one if that's what I wanted. This option should be removable.

When I open the bookmarks menu I just want to see bookmarks. Right now I have to skip past items on the menu that I never use to find my bookmarks halfway down the screen. I like that Firefox is user-configurable, so how about these?
