Dear Firefox Team,

I save around 10–20 bookmarks every day, and most of them come from three different websites. I usually save bookmarks from each website into a specific bookmark folder.

Because Firefox does not remember which folder I previously used for each website, I have to manually select the correct folder every time I save a bookmark. I have been doing this almost every day for several years.

I have an idea that might improve the bookmarking experience:

Could Firefox remember the preferred bookmark folder associated with each domain?

For example:

  • example.com → Folder A
  • example2.com → Folder B
  • example3.com → Folder C

When I bookmark a page, Firefox could automatically suggest or select the folder previously associated with that domain. Users could still change the folder manually whenever necessary.

I believe this would be a small but very useful quality-of-life improvement for users who frequently organize bookmarks by website.

Thank you for considering this suggestion, and thank you for making Firefox!
