Auto PIP when tab is changed

Give us an auto-PIP option that enables PIP automatically when I change from a tab that is showing a video to another tab. When going back to the original tab and that video source is shown, disable it again.

When multiple video sources are available, make it so that the last viewed tab with a source is shown in the auto-PIP. It should also be possible to have multiple PIP instances open (like it is now) but the ones that are enabled manually should also be disabled manually.

My idea conclude make in fucntion "Picture in picture" automatic launch. Just if i go to another page and video is playing that just take out separete window.

Hello! This is something on our radar, but as we're working on improved PiP controls, this is, unfortunately, not something that can fit into our backlog until 2023. We would accept a patch, however 🙂

The same feature has been already implemented in Opera GX. Can they speed up the development for this feature since it is very useful when it comes to Youtube and such Video based websites?

Plus. I like as PiP work in Yandex Browser where video turns to pip when I change tab to another.

automatic picture-in-picture activation

You are currently watching YouTube, but you can open the next tab and the picture in picture will open automatically. There is such a function in the Yandex browser and I would like it to be in FireFox

Add an option to have picture-in-picture automatically enable when changing to a different tab

The last browser I used had this feature where if a video was playing and you clicked a different tab, the video would continue playing in the picture-in-picture view. When you changed back to the original tab that was playing the video, it would automatically disable picture-in-picture as well. I know some people wouldn't like this so an option to have it enabled/disabled would be handy.
