AMOLED (Pure Black) Mode for Thunderbird

Can we have a pure black mode? Especially now that we’re getting a Thunderbird Android app and most phones have AMOLED screens these days.

(To be sure, I want it on the desktop, too. AMOLED on phones is just a convenient excuse!)
