Status: New idea

I used to read RSS feeds in Thunderbird, but this has a problem for me: when I open a feed in a new tab, the webpage tries to load all the banner ads, wich slows down loading so much that it's a pain to read there.

I would like to see an extension such as uBlock Origin installable in Thunderbird or, even better, that Thunderbird itself includes this functionality.

Thank you very much 🙂

There is a build of UBlock Origin for Thunderbird. See the release tab on their Github page.

Get the installation file "uBlock xxxxxxx.thunderbird.xpi,".

You can add uBlock Origin from the "Add-on Manager" menu of Thunderbird by opening the gear icon (Add-on Tools) menu and selecting "Install add-on from File".

uBlock Origin is already in the Thunderbird extensions repository. There is no need for manual installation from GitHub.
