I sort my emails with the last one on top in all maps. But if I use the conversation view, I see the oldest one only and have to open the list to find the recent one. This is so annoying that I tend to use the conversation view at all. The order should be recent at top en the oldest below, or I should have an option to arrange this myself.
Thanks to anyone who can add this option for me

I think good ideas for conversations tree are the following:
- reverse order, from the newest to the oldest
- when click on the message on the tree, show latest mail in preview and open the tree so i can see older mails
What do you think?

KUDOS.

This mandatory Conversation grouping  is hiding unopened emails, including VERY IMPORTANT emails.

It must become a selected option, not a default feature.

It causes me to miss emails FROM MY ATTORNEY.

Who has their head in the dark with this feature?

Threading(grouping) emails (conversation) need to by option, not to be by default.
It cost me a lot of headaches every day. 1 hour I can not find any normal workable explanation how to remove it

Dear Markin Idaho and Prometey,

You come up with a different question than the one for which I started this conversation. Please start your own treat next time.
Conversations can be disabled after a bit of searching in the menu: go to 'View' (beeld) and then "sort as" (sorteren als) and there you find the choice between conversations and no conversations.
I disabled "conversations" because of the wrong order that hides everything new. And that is MY question, "how to have conversations with the newest at the top"

And please don't indicate that the problem of this treat is solved, because your problem is solved now.

I am using thunderbird and just noticed a small thing I thought I would mention.

When I am sorting my email by date, newest to oldest, the conversation drop down doesn't sort the mail in the same fashion.  It is always oldest to newest and the newest is all the way at the bottom.

From a usability perspective this is probably not a good default because most likely the last email in the conversation is at the bottom and requires the user to scroll.  It also means when you first click on the conversation it doesn't show you the newest email in the conversation if it is collapsed.  From a functional perspective it isn't really working in conjunction with the sortable headers above.

That is my 2 cents.

Good idea!

Support it.

Yeah!  😍

Full support!
I also have the problem that the email threads are very long and I have to unfold them to scroll to the latest email. This would make my life a lot easier!

The order of emails in a Topic tree is from the oldest to the newest. As I am normally more interested in the newest emails, I suggest to change the order, as shown in the attached picture.

I also prefer my e-mail to be sorted newest-to-oldest, with the new e-mail at the top. However, if I set or clear a quick filter the sorting reverts to the default oldest-to-newest. When this happens, the "Date" header doesn't change, still indicating that the newest is on top. I have to click the "Date" header twice to get it to sort correctly.

I also find it annoying that Thunderbird will automatically move the scrollbar all the way to the bottom, forcing me to manually move it back to the top (the ctrl-home shortcut standard does not work).

Please consider us top-first folk who switched to Thunderbird from other applications (like Outlook).

Agree. This is the standard also for other eMail clients. Very strange that it has not been implemented yet.

Sorting emails in discussions

Please add the ability to change the sorting of emails in discussions. So that when opening a discussion, the last email is displayed first in the list and the date of the last email is indicated in the main email, and not the first one received
