Please, work with nVidia to add support for RTX Video Super Resolution in Firefox. Nearly 80% of internet bandwidth today is streaming video, and 90% of that content streams at 1080p or lower. Many of us use displays with resolutions higher than 1080p, and Firefox uses basic upscaling techniques, which result in final images that are soft or blurry. PC users also sit close to their screens, which makes the quality of upscaling even more noticeable, and is a good argument for a higher level of processing and refinement.

I prefer to use Firefox for everything I do, but I now feel torn because the difference is so noticeable, and I stream a great deal of video. Again, please, reach out to nVidia and work with them to implement support for RTX VSR. It really makes a difference, and would eliminate any inclination I might have to use a different browser for streaming video.

Yes this is a Must! I have been using Firefox forever... only now I have been using Edge for my video consumption, because it just looks WAY better.

Please take this seriously, it is a very important improvement.

I'm disappointed that Firefox has fallen behind other browsers in not offering Nvidia VSR as an option. Please add this feature to Firefox.

I am here to agree in asking to add this to Firefox. I hate having to use a different browser just to watch a cleaner video on youtube.

Since this is kind of a a parallel thread, but "Video upscaling in browser video players using AMD FidelityFX or similar technology" is the bigger one and also the only one provided directly with updates, I thought I point out the current status here as well for you guys.

To put it in a nutshell: Since 6. of June in Firefox 114 there is initial support added. You can go to about:config, skip the warning, search for gfx.webrender.super-resolution.nvidia and set it to true. But the setting doesn't appear to do any difference at the moment. The next step is to turn this intitial support provided by an external contributor into official support working directly with NVIDIA.

@kkim is the developer that frequently provided updates in the other thread. See this post and this post for more details.

After Bug 1838781 (Nightly 116) there should be a difference.

I absolutely need that too, because I have graphics cards from the 40-series and don't want to use any browser other than Firefox. VSR is great and works like a charm on certain occasions.
