I use DuckDuckGo email aliases when sending emails. For instance, when sending an email to compliance@mozilla.com, I would use "compliance_at_mozilla.com_random_duck_address@duck.com". Its a combination of "compliance@mozilla.com" (destination) and "random_duck_address@duck.com" (my sensing alias). In this instance, compliance@mozilla.com would just see "random_duck_address@duck.com" as the sender and not my real address. You can see this gets rather complicated and can lead to typo errors and especially if I want to generate a new duck address each time as well.
So for my feature request, I'd like to see an option in Thunderbird to generate a new duck alias and automatically format the sending email address for me. This is a simple http request to duckduckgo to generate a new address using an api key the user will obtain. Bitwarden already implements generating a duck address. I would like to see a similar functionality for sending emails in Thunderbird. This could be implemented as a checkbox in the "To" field when typing an email or a popup with a button to generate a duck address.
