I would like to suggest a new privacy feature for Firefox: the ability to lock individual bookmark folders with a password, PIN, or device authentication (like FaceID/TouchID).
Currently, all bookmarks are visible to anyone who has access to an unlocked device or a shared browser profile. While users can create separate profiles, it is inconvenient for quick browsing sessions. Adding a built-in lock feature for specific folders would allow users to keep sensitive, personal, or work-related bookmarks secure and private from family members, colleagues, or anyone else who might temporarily use the device.
Ideally, this feature would:
∆Allow users to right-click a folder and select "Lock Folder."
∆Require a master password, PIN, or biometric check to reveal the contents of that specific folder.
∆Keep the folder contents hidden from the address bar search autofill unless the folder is unlocked.
