Why is it that FireFox wants to download everything into some obscure folder instead of the folder I want to file to go into?  (Namely: run/user/1000/doc/xxxxxxx/{long list of folders}). This usually happens when I want to save the file directly to a flash drive without saving to the hard drive.  If the file is deleted from the obscure folder before the flash drive is removed, the file is also deleted instead of leaving it on the flash as intended. Please disable this feature. We previously had the option of choosing whether to download the file or view it in a third party app via the temporary folders. Now it doesn't give us this option and all the files are filling up my desktop and it is a very annoying task to keep deleting all the unnecessary files.

Dear Firefox team, It is good that I can choose to a) open a file with Firefox, b) open it in a different app or c) download it. It is not good that all three of those actions lead to the file being downloaded into the specified download folder. I'm aware of the ability to choose this folder in the settings. I have my setting in Firefox to "Always Ask" when opening a PDF file.  When the dialog box appears I choose either open in Firefox or open with Adobe Acrobat Reader.  This works perfect except that a PDF file is also downloaded to my Downloads folder.  Why when I just want to "View" a PDF file, a downloaded copy of the PDF also gets put into the Downloads file?  If I wanted this to happen, I would have choose to Save file rather than view it.

I have set my PDFs to always ask.  A recent update is now the second time that I have to change the behaviour back, because Firefox updates change it to open in Firefox. This is VERY bad for me in Internet Banking. Please give us back the ability to just open file the way it was before and was working perfectly fine. now when i choose to open a file it in fact saved it... my download folder is now full of files i don't want to keep and i have to delete hundred of stuff manually every days... it is a real pain and i don't understand why you did this... or at least change the option name instead of lying to us about what it does...

With version 98.0 the saving of .exe files won't ''ask me'' if i want to save the file like in previous versions.I read that the default saving attitude now is auto-saving. I have changed to ''always ask'' most of my content type like it was before, but the .exe type is missing.
