Firefox performance is at a devastating low.

As a retired Network Quality Assurance Specialist and Tester, Firefox performance has been getting worst.
Even though many of us love Firefox, but apparently Mozilla doesn't have a Quality Assurance Department to test changes and/or run test scripts.
Many critical complaints occurred after 152 updates.

My biggest complaint is that I choose to not update automatically, so I don't have the updated Firefox bugs but Mozilla ignores my preference and forces an update that has problems.

Whenever I use my computer on Amazon Prime, commercials freeze on the tv screen until I move the mouse  over the frozen screen especially when watchimg a LIVE TV Series.  Example:..........

I have been noticing some anonymous bugs since Firefox 151Beta. Are Java6>, .Net3>, Python3>, and Swift3> loving to crash commands and configurations? Has this not been noticeable since AI became mandatory? Users so need their own legal services. Commands would not fail their users and programs as often.

I'm not sure users could sue Firefox for AI or features it adds given (1) it's a free product, so you're a user of it, not their customer and (2) by visiting the about:preferences#ai page you can turn it all off.

Have you tried Menu -> Help and Report -> Troubleshoot Mode to see if sites work correctly there?  If they do, this will point to an extension causing your issues.

Firefox is actually misspelled. It should be called Updatefox.

Craziness.

You are spot-on.
The most "updates" the worse it gets. Two updates EVERY week??? WTH?
Hiring software designers that actually know what they are doing.... would be a great first step. A softwaew program should not need to have TWO updats EVERY week!!

Everyone who wants a more-stable Firefox that updates less-often (security-updates about every two-weeks, but only new features and UI changes around once-a-year), should move to the 'ESR' version:

153.5 is the current version, so it doesn't have the new rounded "Nova" look introduced in 157.0

I have noticed that one of the pages on my own site,

https://algosim.org/SynViewSource/SelfTest.html

is no longer viewable in Firefox due to exceedingly poor performance.

While it is a demanding page, it used to be perfectly viewable in Firefox – and it still is perfectly viewable in Chrome and Edge.

So this is a regression.

Update: Disregard. After posting this, I realised that I should test the page in private mode to see if it may be some Firefox extension that is the culprit. And sure enough, in private mode it works flawlessly.

Not directed as you personally, but it's crazy to me how-many people complain about broken sites or poor-performance in Firefox and never consider it could be an extension.

As future advice, a "private window" won't always help as a test, as extensions can be configured to run inside such windows (either you can set this when you first install an extension, or later from the Extensions and Themes page).

To test without any extensions loaded, that's what "Troubleshoot Mode" is for:
Menu  ->  Help and Report  ->  Troubleshoot Mode

Thanks, I had never tried this "Troubleshoot Mode".
