WIN 11 IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO TAKE FF OUT OF 30% EFFICIENCY MODE; KILLING FF PERFORMANCE
- NO APPARENT WAY TO TURN OFF EFFICIENCY MODE IN TASK MANAGER FOR FF
#1 FF START-UP
I KEEP A LOT OF TABS OPEN PERHAPS MORE THAN 1 HUNDRED IN 8-10 WINDOWS
START-UP, PLEASE ONLY GET FF RUNNING, AND THE CURRENT TAB WHILE CHECKING FOR UPDATES AND PERFORMING ANY HOUSEKEEPING. OPENING ALL TABS AT START-UP KILLS FF AND THE PC.
- DEFAULT TO LOAD WHEN CLICKED OR OPTIONS TO LOAD ONE AT A TIME IN SEQUENCE OR MOST RECENTLY VIEWED IN SEQUENCE TO LEAST RECENT LAST. LIMIT TRIES AND TIME OUT SO BAD TAB DOESN'T KILL MACHINE.
- OPEN THE WINDOWS, BUT DON'T TRY TO LOAD 100s TABS
- MAYBE TAB MEMORY FOR THE TAB HEADLINES FROM THE PREVIOUS SESSION WITHOUT ACTUALLY LOADING THEM UNLESS THEY ARE CLICKED.
- ONLY LOAD TABS AFTER THEY ARE SELECTED AKA CLICKED
- ALLOW ONE POWER WINDOW THAT IS DESIGNATED FOR TABS ALWAYS LOAD ALWAYS OPEN, 1 AT A TIME L TO R IN SEQUENCE WITH A TIMER TO SKIP A SLOW TAB AND RETURN TO IT AT THE BACK OF THE CUE WITH LIMITED RETRIES AND AN ERROR MESSAGE IF IT WON'T LOAD. TAB THAT TIMES OUT AND FAILS RETRIES TURNS RED, MAYBE OTHERS GO GREEN AFTER THEY LOAD SUCCESSFULLY, YELLOW AS THEY LOAD.
#2 WIN 11 EFFICIENCY MODE/ TRAP
TASK MANAGER, NOR ANY SWITCH ANYWHERE IN WIN 11 OR FF, WILL ALLOW FF TO BE TAKEN OUT OF GREEN MODE KILLING THE FF PERFORMANCE AND PROBABLY THE MACHINE. WHY NOT SET A GOVERNOR LEVEL USER SELECT-ABLE LIKE UP TO 80% IN 10% INCREMENTS. THE ONLY THING MY MACHINE DOES ALL DAY IS RUN FF AND OCCASIONALLY THE APACHE OPEN OFFICE SUITE, WHY AM IN TRAPPED AT 30% FOR FF ?
#3 WIN 11 FIREWALL
I ALLOWED FF ACCESS TO PUBLIC AND PRIVATE NETWORKS, WHICH MAY HAVE IMPROVED PERFORMANCE SINCE IT APPEARS TO BE LOADING PAGES NOW. MS WIN DEFINITIONS OF PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SUCK.
#4 MS WIN SPEAK IS PISS POOR
- IS PRIVATE INSIDE MY HOME
- AND PUBLIC OUT ONTO THE INTERNET FROM MY HOME
- IS PUBLIC SOME UN SECURE NETWORK IN A COFFEE SHOP OR AIRPORT?
- MY WIFI IS LIMITED TO MY ROUTER ONLY AND BT IS SET TO OFF.

Try these one at a time, checking after each.
FF menu > Help > More Troubleshooting Information > Clear startup cache button
Clear the browser cache:
- press Ctrl-Shift-Delete (Mac: Cmd-Shift-Delete)
- set 'Time range...' to 'Everything'
- untick all items except 'Temporary cached files and pages'
- clear, then restart FF
Turn off hardware acceleration:
- go to FF Menu > Settings and enter 'hardware' (no quotes) in the search box
- uncheck 'Use recommended performance settings' > uncheck 'Use hardware acceleration when available'
- restart FF
Disable Efficiency mode: in about:config, change dom.ipc.processPriorityManager.backgroundUsesEcoQoS to false > restart FF
Via the address bar, go to about:config > search for accessibility.force_disabled > change the value to 1 > click check mark > restart FF
Disable VPN if you're using one
Change proxy settings: FF menu > Settings > search for proxy > click Settings button > try the other settings
Change DNS settings: FF menu > Settings > search for dns > try the other 'Enable DNS over HTTPS using' settings including another provider
Just above that at 'DNS over HTTPS', make an exception for the sluggish site(s)
If using proxy and UBlock Origin, in uBO settings disable 'Uncloak canonical names'
Check about:processes and about:memory
If nothing helps, you could file a bug:
- via the address bar, go to about:crashes and submit all pending crash reports. Copy the ID of the most recent report.
- via the address bar, go to about:support > click 'Copy text to clipboard' > paste to a text editor and save it as a plain text file
- via the address bar, open about:memory in a new tab > click 'Measure and save'
- file the bug (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org). Choose the 'Report a new bug in a Mozilla product' > Firefox option.
- click the 'Attach New File' button to upload your saved files. Also mention your last crash ID.
