Why is the "minimize to try" only available on the windows version of Thunderbird?

Making moves

I have Thunderbird on both Windows 10 and EndeavourOS Linux. Same version 115.3.2. The windows one has the option "when thunderbird is minimized, move it to tray", but the Linux version doesn't. Why? I really want to use it as my main email client, but I can't without a systray icon. An email client is just useless if it doesn't notify me about new emails when it is "closed".
