Update 137.0.1 (64 bit) made my firefox not working on Windows 10

If I installed this version, my firefox keep checking update (spinning), then did not access any websites at all.

I even totally uninstalled firefox and reinstalled the version 137.0.1 but did not fix the issue.

I had to restore to the previous system using a backup and set the firefox to not update automatically.

I am running Windows 10 and version 133.0.3 on firefox which is working fine.

Welcome to the club.  FF 137 has not worked since day 1 on any of my computers.  The problem is so widespread and related to the update that one would think either Mozilla would roll it back and try again when it was fixed or at least post something here in the discussions. My other browsers work fine with my AV programs.  They missed the mark with version 137.

Thanks for your reply.

In my case, this update is not working only on my Windows 10 laptop.  It works fine on my Windows 11 computers.

Hope they can fix it and issue a new update...

I am having the same problems on both my Windows 10 and Windows 11 machines.  I am pretty computer savvy.  If my AV programs were causing it, I would see it across all my computers.  I have been running my AV programs for many years on all my computers and have not had this happen before.  I run both SecureAnywhere and Avast One.  Both programs are very effective and work well together.  I run Windows Security about once every 2 weeks just in case but I have never had anything missed.  SecureAnywhere is a potent root protection and Avast One catches sneaky stuff as well.  Hopefully they will figure it out.

137 "works" for me, but memory use is up by at least 50%. Same sitch, running Win10. I hadn't realized I could roll back the update to an earlier version of FF, I'm off to do that now ...

Just a note that FF does not offer a way to roll back their update.  To go back to the earlier version of FF, you can either find a older version of FF, then uninstall your FF and install the earlier version, or restore the whole system with a backup.  To do the restoration, you'd better disconnect your Internet first, otherwise, once you launch your FF, it will quickly install the 137.0.1 update automatically by default. Once your restoration is done (without Internet), you can launch FF, go to settings/General, find update session, and set it not install update automatically. After that you can use your FF until they issue a new update and hopefully it will fix this issue.  Good luck!
