I use Firefox for a mix of everyday browsing and financial websites, and I’ve been thinking about the trade-off between strong privacy protection and site compatibility.
Firefox’s tracking protection is one of the reasons I like using the browser. At the same time, financial platforms often rely on multiple domains, embedded services, login verification, or third-party security checks.
I sometimes use crypto platforms such as BYDFi as well, and sites in this category can involve several authentication and security layers. When a login flow, verification page, or embedded feature behaves differently in Firefox, I usually hesitate before disabling privacy protections because I don’t want to weaken them globally just to fix one website.
I’m curious how other Firefox users handle this.
Do you normally create a site-specific exception when a financial or trading site has compatibility problems?
Do you stay on Standard protection, use Strict mode, or customize the settings?
And do you think Firefox could make it clearer when privacy protections are the reason a login, verification, or payment flow is not working properly?
