I have encountered a consistent issue with media playback on twitch.tv in Firefox.
The issue:
When pausing a live Twitch stream and then resuming it, the audio buffer duplicates and starts overlapping:
- The pre-pause buffered audio keeps playing.
- Simultaneously, the live broadcast audio starts playing over it.
- The result is two separate, desynchronized audio tracks playing at the same time until the page is fully refreshed.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open any live stream on twitch.tv.
2. Click pause on the video player and wait 3–5 seconds.
3. Click play to resume.
Actual result: Two audio streams overlap.
Expected result: Normal, synchronized playback resumes.
Environment:
- OS: Windows 11
- Browser: Firefox (latest stable release)
- Add-ons: reproduced with and without extensions (safe mode / clean profile)
