After using Outlook for more than two decades, I now use a dozen email addresses in Thunderbird and a large number of local folders.
I often find that when I reply to or forward a message, the new message seems to disappear. I can't find it in my sent items or in the folder of the message I'm replying to. I have to close Thunderbird and then reopen it to finally find my message.
In general, when moving or handling ‘junk mail’ between folders, updates are very slow compared to Outlook. This won't make me switch back to Outlook, but I think it could be improved.

What is a Unified Sent Folder ? Each address has its own ‘Send’ folder.

Unified is described at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/switching-folder-pane-view

I'm not aware of any Thunderbird bugs that make folder updates slow.
Please
* Start Windows in safe mode with networking enabled - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12376/windows-10-start-your-pc-in-safe-mode
* Still In Windows safe mode, start Thunderbird in Troubleshoot Mode - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-mode-thunderbird
Does problem change?
Are these imap accounts?
