With Firefox's new update, a major visual change caught my attention: huge rounded corners.
Windows users who were forced into disgusting boxes with razor-sharp corners back with Win10 are now condemned to these massive circular rounded corners while using Firefox. It's the 21st century, and almost everyone has a supercomputer-level device in their hands. Let users decide this for themselves—when we buy a house, we aren't forced to keep the contractor's windows, we can change them (with a bit of cost).
But here, completely contradicting the concept of a 'personal computer,' since when did 'the majority uses it like this, wants it like this, so you will use it like this too' get classified as a personal choice? This is pure bullying. Excuse me, but after the performance drop in web-based games, now I'm facing a terrible forced design in the user interface (UI)—I didn't like it at all.
Solved! Go to Solution.

In the web-address bar, type about:config then press ENTER
Accept any warning shown
Search for nova
Double-click the line "browser.nova.enabled" to change from "true" to "false"
Many of the UI changes will then be reversed

Hi, thanks for the solution; those hideous, massive rounded corners are gone, and it's back to normal.
Why doesn't Firefox clearly display these solutions? Or was I just careless?
Thanks again.

Because the Firefox team want you to only use the new UI, and not revert it 🙃

They should listen to the community instead and understand that no-one want the new UI 🙃.
Because it is horrible, and that nobody asked for that change, people are leaving Firefox for other browsers precisely because of this UI change, and ngl if I'm ever forced to use the new UI, it will be same I'll have no other choice but to leave to another browser..

I love you.

I hate it. It looks so dumb. Why do they keep changing things without giving us a simple was to put it back to something that doesn't look like a bunch of disconnected bubbles, but actually looks like it is connected to content.
If you're going to add things like this, let your users turn it off without going into hidden config or hacking a CSS somewhere. Sure I can do it, but I'm a programmer, what about everyone else?

Thank you very much, I almost did a downgrade, this post saved me. I really hate this big rounded corner. Look like an ugly apple device...

YES!!! This is the answer! Mozilla...horrible UI change...let's make things clean. Round is not clean. At the very least give the option when the update is made to LET THE USER CHOOSE WHETHER OR NOT THEY WANT THE UPDATE!

It's just so wasteful of space and simultaneously feels really cramped. The tabs take up more space now, but because the border radii are so obscenely huge, the text in the tabs feels squished in. It wasn't broken. Please stop fixing it.

I was completely thrown off by the new UI. I understand things need to change, but this was such a drastic change, between the gradients which are very painful to look at and the bubble styled tabs, it made the whole thing feel more like the background of a video game rather than a tool I rely on.
While I can live with the whole UI change, the fact that there was no readily visible preference to change it and I had to go into the hidden config menu leaves me feeling very disappointed in Mozilla. Firefox's whole shtick was greater user control and privacy, and I feel like this is really just heading in the direction of all those other tech companies where they decide you should like something and try to take away your freedom as a consumer.
You can do better than this.

Likely vibed by "AI". How else could this happen? Unwanted gradient at the top bar? Constantly catching and leading your eye around nonsensically. Very unpleasant. Rounding tab bars as if that was somewhat an ingenious, ""modern"" design decision? And on top of that, no easy roll back? Utterly disappointing.
Thinking of changing my browser now after decades. Firefox gave into to the nonsense too much. If it ain't broke, don't freaking fix it.
Is this where the funding and donations go? Seems like Mozilla leaning fully into "AI" now starts to show its ugly outcomes. "Protecting the Internet as a public space" - while fully leaning into "AI" hype, and then completely screwing up their UI and making it non optional.
No Mozilla, your AI shilling does NOT makes you any different from other AI shillers, just because you pretend to "do it right", or "responsibly". You ain't.
And I think it is time to move on for those users who once chose you cause you represented the exact opposite of what you are turning into now. And this unwanted, unasked and blatantly unoptional UI change is a testament and a reminder of that.

I don't think so, but it surely feels like it.. It's realy sad because it probably makes it the worsed update Mozilla ever released just for that change, while there are other good stuff in the update, fortunately we can still change it back, but the day we can't anymore, personaly I'm out and going to have to find another browser.. This hidious UI is a deal breaker for me..

The rounded corners are disgusting and it's harder to read the text. I love the boxes 1000 times more! I found a way to remove the disgusting rounded corners.
