Hi friends!

Upon popular demand (can you believe it is our #1 feature request?) we have snuck Mozilla VPN Dark mode into version 2.27 as an early-access feature for you to try out.

Want to give it a spin before the official release? Here's how to unlock it:

  1. Make sure you're on Mozilla VPN 2.27.0. (Check in โš™๏ธ Settings โ†’ About Us)
  2. Unlock Developer options: Go to โš™๏ธ Settings โ†’ Help, and tap/click repeatedly on the "Help" title at the top until you see a new menu called ๐Ÿ”ง Developer options.
  3. Head into Developer options, choose Feature list, and toggle on Theme selection.
  4. Now go to โš™๏ธ Settings โ†’ ๐Ÿ”ง Preferences โ†’ Appearance.
  5. Select Dark mode.
  6. Bask in the moody glow ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Weโ€™re planning to roll this out to everyone in the next release, but weโ€™d love to hear what you think first. Does it look good? Any quirks?

Drop your thoughts belowโ€”we're all ears!

Happy VPN-ing,
Santiago

Since you're one of the few Mozilla developers who understand the benefit of having a built-in dark mode, please try to explain to your bosses that the Mozilla websites also need dark themes.

For years, users have been telling each other to disable security protections in about:config  just so that they can use an extension to make addons.mozilla.org dark. Creating a native dark theme for this website would put an end to this sad circus.
