Even with all the drivers and software and add-ons and certificates installed, the Belgian eid can't be read in Firefox. There was a time where it could, but that is some time ago, in the meantime.
On the contrary the confusing Belgian eid potty does work in e.g. Google Chrome.
May I ask Firefox development to do the check.
What you need is a card reader, installation of all modules, installation of the add-on, possibly a Belgian ID.
Also, I'm talking 'Linux' in my case.
I imported some lacking Belgian eid certificates from Google Chrome into Firefox. To no avail...
