Latest version. Youtube is lagging after last update

Subj. The hardest lags ever. Shorts may switch 30+secs. New videos open slow also.

Same Here, good computer with Ryzen 7 2700x CPU and 32 GB of RAM. After las update, youtube is very laggy

Very slow. Changing to other windows besides Firefox or changing tabs causes the youtube tab to go blank and render again after a very long time. Video controls start lagging and once my laptop even crashed during a video. Had to hard restart the whole thing. I do have quite a few privacy addons but I have those same onces on Edge browser and it doesn't seem to do this.

I should mention that this does not really happen on my desktop computer. Only the laptop. It's a Vivobook with an integrated GPU so that might be the problem. The thing is: this really does not happen with Edge.

idk what exact ministutters is, but check cpu/gpu loading in performance monitor. also some another processes like default windows antivirus may affect. ministutters is not the problem i was originally posted about.

Same issue here with Macbook Air M1. Started suddenly after update to 124.0.1 (still the same with 124.0.2)

Same here too. Youtube become very very laggy. Every video has loadings in them, with a broadband internet. Very disturbing.

Just guessing but it seems to be a buffering issue. I just switch to Edge to watch any HQ vids.

Have the same, not only lagging, it randomly dont load. Have to F5 the whole page also nothing happens.... I regulary now watch Videos on Edge, there its working.... please help me 😮

I also met similar issue, it cost >20sec to open a new youtube tab after the last FF update.
I found the youtube cookie size become 1.5GB.
After removed the youtube cookie and clear cache data, this issue was gone.

totally agree seems like video is loading. I even turned on troubleshooting mode so it is definately the browser. this NEEDS to be fixed ASAP! also after 3 minutes or so it lags again. did speed tests on internet to check my connection. no problem with connection. even playing twitch on the side. seems to be only YOUTUBE.

I've been facing the same issue after updating YouTube lags significantly when I try to watch product videos for my store on Weight Lifting Belt. So choppy, so sad! YT used to work just smooth and fine on FF but something has happened, possibly due to an update like others have pointed out. YT on Chrome works right but that's not a real solution because FF is and always has been the better option (except in this case I guess.)
