I had actually been wondering if this was something imposed by Apple (it really makes the browser look a lot more like Safari) but I just noticed that Vivaldi, which I keep around for a secondary browser but use much less, doesn’t do it, even on the same iPad.
Even better, Vivaldi has a setting toggle to control this ‘feature’, so you can hide it if you really want to, but don’t have to.
Firefox meanwhile seems to have massively dumbed down its settings options, so nothing like this appears, at least in the iPad version. Maybe I’ll go use Vivaldi a bit more until Firefox bring this back.
