Images not loading from Profile user in Instagram?

Folks:

Long time user of FF, going back to the Camino days . . . .  Lately noticing that if I want to add a comment on a photo I posted on IG, when I go to >Profile I can see my posted images, but previously I could click on an image and it would open it, showing the comments off to the side.  Now, when I do that there is like a "veneer" over the screen, as though it was loading that post . . . there is an X upper right to "close" the image . . . but the image is not there??

I have checked this in a number of linux distros that I have installed and on a couple different machines . . . not sure if it is a FireFox problem, but it is "new" behavior . . . happening in FF.

Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot it??

It happens to me also. I tried turning off all add-ons in Troubleshooting mode, and no change. But other browser can open it. So, I'm thinking it's something with FF... 😞
If I found anything, I will come back.

To fix this, you can start by clearing cookies and cache, as accumulated data can interfere with website functionality. In Firefox, go to the menu, select History, then Clear Recent History, and choose Everything before clearing cookies and cache. If the problem persists, try disabling extensions and themes by going to Add-ons and Themes in the menu and toggling off all extensions. Restart Firefox and check if Instagram works properly, then re-enable extensions one by one to identify the cause.

Another possible reason could be Firefox's Enhanced Tracking Protection, which sometimes blocks content. Click the shield icon in the address bar while on Instagram and turn off tracking protection for the site to see if that helps. Additionally, disabling Hardware Acceleration might resolve display issues—this can be done in Options under the Performance section by unchecking both Use recommended performance settings and Use hardware acceleration when available before restarting Firefox.

If the issue continues, try Firefox Troubleshoot Mode, which temporarily disables extensions and themes. Access this mode by selecting Help from the menu, choosing Troubleshoot Mode, and clicking Restart. If Instagram works correctly in this mode, the problem is likely related to an extension or setting. Also, incorrect Network Settings could prevent images from loading. To check this, go to Options, find Network Settings, ensure No proxy is selected, and restart Firefox.

Lastly, updating Firefox to the latest version may fix the issue if it's related to a bug. Check for updates by selecting Help in the menu, clicking About Firefox, and allowing it to install any available updates.

I've tried all of these suggestions, but no luck...🤔

I'll have to check some of the suggestions . . . but since I posted the problem does happen in Chromium . . . and, the kicker, it does not happen in my secondary IG account . . . .  It is just happening in the primary IG account.

I have posted on "report a problem" from my IG account perhaps 4 times now, so far of course the server has not replied . . . .

I'll have to check through the things to try later on.

Same here. Also tried an earlier version of Firefox (v134) and same problem. It seems that something has changed on Instagram and Firefox doesn't like it.

Hmm . . . it's all about keeping pace with the rapid changes going on in the fast moving technological stream.  Did you try to add a fresh account, or do you have a secondary IG account, because in mine FF was up to par, just not in my main one . . . same browser, etc.  I think it is on the IG side.  Of course no reply to my reports from the server.

Thanks for your reply. Nope, I didn't try to add a fresh IG account, and I don't have a secondary account. It just suddenly stopped working properly. Strangely, I can click on other people's posts and their images come up nice and clear, but not my own. Odd...

Yep.  That is what is happening with my main IG account . . . .  Problem with all of these sites these days is that they are "server" or "AI" driven, and AI is always "happy" and never responds to any questions or reports . . . .  One time I think I had to file 10 "report a problem" reports with IG to get something fixed . . . .  "Kicks for free" and so forth, but still, somebody is making a lot of $$$ from IG . . . it should be a bit more "responsive." ?????
