home page automatically altered

Hi,

would it be reasonable to have a homepage not be altered?  Currently, I have a homepage that looks something like this:

https://www.university.edu/facultypage

but frequently, firefox changes it to:

https://www.university.edu/facultypage.html

or

https://www.university.edu/facultypage/

which cannot be found on my homepage. Please have firefox stop adding those "/" or ".html" extensions, please. Thanks.
