I have finally come to the end of the road with Firefox. Almost every time it updates I have to revert settings that it resets in order to carry on browsing as i do. I thought this was limited to windows, like the classic / SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER among many others that keep returning and wasting my time having to fix yet again - but no, it seems to happen now i have moved over to Linux as well.
Having to add exceptions again, or going deep into the settings page to change the config page YET again has pissed me off for the last time.
It's ANY other browser than Firefox from now on however secure, innovative, clever or positive. A browser is a tool, not a complicated system that we all enjoy learning or have time to get working everytime some idiot thinks they'll make a random change to it.
I have seen similar criticisms over the years, so i know i am not alone, or the first person to say it. Until Firefox doesn't change your settings every time it updates (may not be every time, but enough to be really annoying) - or at least explains the changes and asks permission to put them in effect, i'm out.
It's such a pity because back in the 90's and early 2000's there wasn't a browser to touch it - but now there are alternatives that don't mess up your system everytime some geek decides to f**k around with the code just because they can.
I hope Mozilla can look at this and consider that a load of us out here want to set up our systems and not have to spend hours making them work as we want them to again every few months.
