I don't even know how to put this... but why is Mozilla following the absurd trend that big companies have, to shove AI everywhere? A month after Microsoft CEO got slashed for not understanding that their customers DO NOT WANT Copilot as part of Windows 11, do I need to read an out-of-touch blog post from Mozilla's CEO with this absurdity?
Third: Firefox will grow from a browser into a broader ecosystem of trusted software. Firefox will remain our anchor. It will evolve into a modern AI browser and support a portfolio of new and trusted software additions.
I understand that companies like Microsoft, driven by shareholders try to push anything new down their customers' throats, but I expected a community-driven project to be better than this and understand the needs of its users.
Is this the end of Mozilla? Should we fork the project to regain control?

Please note this related idea: (1) No AI in the browser

I would just like to concur with OP. I use firefox precisely becuase they are (used to be) anathema to the horse **bleep** all these big tech companies are doing that noone asked for.
If anyone from mozilla is reading this please know:
YOUR USERS DO NOT WANT AI IN THE BROWSER!
STOP!
If i wanted to deal with this ai nonsense id go use edge and copilot.
You guys are one of the last bastions of reason in the tech sector. Please dont abandon that for AI features noone is asking for. We dont want it.
