dragging an email to a different folder opens the folder too quickly

Making moves

just got a new version (115.4.1) and if I drag and drop a message from the main folder to a sub-folder (that in turn has a sub-folder or 2) it opens the sub-folder to show the next level of sub-folders, but does it too quickly. If I just wanted the first level of sub-folder open, then I have to take time to close it so the sub-sub-folders do not stay showing. I am pretty sure in the not too distant past it opened after a bit more of a pause.

I have the same problem (and a Million other users, too). Fortunately, there is a ridiculously complicated workaround at Reddit

Hello

In addition
Take a look, Timeout for opening folder when dragging messages, in TB115

Your first link (https://forums.mozfr.org/viewtopic.php?t=152682) points to the same solution as Reddit, i.e. it's ridiculously complicated, but in French.

The link to bugzilla is actually a bug report. User webmaster2 reports in addition:

"I just observed another symptom. If I drag a message quickly over the folder pane, and then quickly back into the message list pane, a random folder will open and stay open. It always happens.  [later]  I was a systems software engineer for over 20 years. It's hard for me to understand how these defects could have been introduced, when previous versions of TB had none of these defects, and we are not talking about new features here. I hate to say this, but it sort of looks like sabotage."

Let's just wait a few months, they will eventually sort it out.

Yes, in addition

So it's not resolved, with Thunderbird beta, currently 121.0b1

For your information, it's not because (for example, beta 121.0b1) that the concern will also only be resolved in (this is just an illustration) with Thunderbird 121 release
Beta, this is a pre-prod, a concern resolved in beta, perhaps resolved with one of the next Thunderbird release updates (for example) 115

Folder open hover delay was too short when using drag-and-drop

Thank you!
