Currently, Firefox chooses a color scheme based on your toolbar theme.

  • Toolbar theme has dark text on a light background => built-in pages and menus follow
  • Toolbar theme has light text on a dark background => built-in pages and menus follow

Can you change your toolbar theme to work with this approach?

I know a lot of people want them to be separate: treat the toolbar theme as purely decorative and not as a signal about how you like to interact with the world. I don't know whether we'll get that.

It hurts my eyes and is blurry. I can barely see the stuff. web pages shouldn’t have the ability to see my settings.

To set Firefox to always use a Light theme for web pages, check out the Web Appearance setting:

https://support.mozilla.org/kb/change-website-appearance-settings-firefox

If that doesn't work as designed, I suggest posting this problem on the Mozilla Support site. They have a team of support volunteers to troubleshoot malfunctions with your currently installed version of Firefox, while this site is focused on idea submissions for future versions of Firefox (looking ahead anywhere from 8 weeks to many months). Here's a link to the new question form (for Windows/Mac/Linux): https://mzl.la/3y1vQUQ

There is no web appearance settings.

Do you have a very old version of Firefox? It should be as shown in the article if you have a version from 2022-2023:
