why doesn't firefox work as well as other browsers??

So many web pages don't load properly. when I contact the sites they all say to try Google Chrome or Safari as they are more compatible.  I've used firefox for years, but it isn't keeping up. very disappointing

What's happening ? From time to time, Firefox randomly opens with advertisements from different manufacturers. If this continues, I'll switch to Chrome.
