Currently, Thunderbird for Android sets a flag in its manifest that prevents it from being included in backups.
My emails, and the client configs for my email providers, are some of the most important data on my device. Therefore they are some of the most important things to be able to backup and quickly and easily restore. Security is not just about preventing unauthorized access - it's also about protecting and preserving authorized access. Without backups, I am vulnerable to losing important information if my device is destroyed, lost, stolen, or ransomed.
Please allow Thunderbird to be included in backups.
