adding a sound to completed downloads and errors

I would like for sounds to be added for downloads, whether it be completed or failed.
The reason I'm suggesting this is because of moments where I'm waiting for something to download in the background for a while only to realise it failed a long while ago, it can be quite frustrating sometimes especially if it's a big file. These sounds would greatly help me and those who experience the same thing.

I agree but in the absence of it as a built-in feature the extension Download Manager (S3) adds it.

thefresky45, I agree, and there is a feature request here:
https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/download-completed-with-a-notification-including-an-alert-if-a/...
So you may wish to upvote this request (i.e. add kudos to the first post there).

In the meantime, I have been using the Noise add-on:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/noise/

And another one that I considered was Download Sound:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/download-sound/

However, I agree that such a basic function as alerting the user to download completion / failure should be native.

It really disrupts your tasks when you have to keep periodically coming out of a fullscreen movie, or switching back to Firefox, to check whether a download has finished or instead has failed and so needs your attention.
