Imagine you have say for example 5 folders with bookmarks in them. But you decide to move these 5 folders into a single folder.
I select these 5 folders. 2 methods to move them into the single folder where I want to move them.
---1st method (cut and paste the 5 folders into the single folder) that goes well:
The 5 folders are selected, I right-click and I do a cut and then paste them into the single folder. All goes well.
---2nd method (select and drag the 5 folders into the single folder) that goes wrong:
The 5 folders are selected. I right-click my mouse, keep the mouse button pressed, and then move them into the single folder.
When I do that, each of the 5 folders have their bookmarks not anymore inside every single of these 5 folders but just at the same level of each of these 5 folders!!!
It is a very nasty bug.
End.

When I say: "The 5 folders are selected. I right-click, ..." applying to the 2nd method but it also applies to the 1st method, I did a mistake by saying "right-click", I should have said "left-click my mouse" instead.
So, I first select the 5 folders that are now highlighted and I keep my left button of my mouse pressed to drag these 5 folders into the folder I want to put them in.
My apology for the mistake.

I can't reproduce that. I made six bookmark folders on the toolbar, populated five of them, opened the Bookmarks Manager (ctrl-shift-o), and moved them into folder #6 using both methods without problems.
Questions:
Where exactly are the folders you're trying to move - in a toolbar folder at the top level? Lower level? Not in a toolbar folder at all?
How many bookmarks are in the folders you try to move?
Are you trying this from within the Bookmarks Manager?

I again need to clarify.
---1st method (cut and paste the 5 folders into any other single folder) that goes well:
The 5 folders are selected and these 5 selected folders are at the left in the sidebar of bookmarks that I always leave open at the left because I have a very wide 43" monitor, I RIGHT-CLICK these 5 selected folders and select the option cut. Then I look for any other folder, select it, right-click on it and select the option paste! I did a simple cut and paste of 5 selected folders to another (any other) folder and I should see these 5 folders in the other folder.
Each of these 5 selected folders had just a few folders in each of these 5 folders.
The important point is that, in this first method, when you check the target "any other folder", you should see these 5 folders and each of these 5 folders has their respective bookmarks inside each of these 5 folders as normal.
------------------------------
---2nd method (select and drag the 5 folders into any other single folder) that goes wrong:
The 5 folders are selected and again these 5 selected folders are at the left in the sidebar of bookmarks that I always leave open at the left because I have a very wide 43" monitor. BUT this time, I LEFT-CLICK MY MOUSE, keep the mouse button fully pressed, and then move these 5 selected folders by "dragging them" into any other single folder. It is just a select and drag use of the mouse.
When I have done that, when I checked inside this target other single folder, I see the 5 folders but each of these 5 folders do not have their original bookmarks into each of these 5 folders. Instead you have inside this target other single folder the following:
--1st folder
--bookmarks for the 1st folder listed below the 1st folder and not inside the 1st folder as they should be.
--Same for the remaining 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th folders that is for the sake of leaving nothing to doubt:
--2nd folder
--bookmarks for the 2nd folder listed below the 2nd folder and not inside the 2nd folder as they should be.
--3rd folder
--bookmarks for the 3rd folder listed below the 3rd folder and not inside the 3rd folder as they should be.
--4th folder
--bookmarks for the 4th folder listed below the 4th folder and not inside the 4th folder as they should be.
--5th folder
--bookmarks for the 5th folder listed below the 5th folder and not inside the 5th folder as they should be.
Normally, I should have seen with this select and drag method with these 5 selected folders:
--1st folder with its own bookmarks inside the 1st folder as it should be.
--2nd folder with its own bookmarks inside the 2nd folder as it should be.
--3rd folder with its own bookmarks inside the 3rd folder as it should be.
--4th folder with its own bookmarks inside the 4th folder as it should be.
--5th folder with its own bookmarks inside the 5th folder as it should be.
I do hope that it is much clearer this way. Let me know if you can reproduce the bug? Thanks.

Still can't reproduce it after trying again. Can you please try doing it from within the full-screen Bookmarks Manager?

Capitals only used to highlight important points or if used to name a folder.
More explanation.
I send you 3 screenshots. If you cannot see what I mean with these 3 screenshots, I will have ended my ability to make you see the bug!
Here I use only 2 folders:
--first folder: ---01:20... that has no bookmarks in it.
--second folder: (FIRST) MIKE FREMONT... that has 9 bookmarks and 3 folders (one of them even have 1 bookmark in it).
Now I will use the 2 methods explained previously, especially on 04-09-2025 where I tried to be clearer.
--2nd method (select and drag) is where the problem will show.
I select the two folders and you get screenshot 1.
I apply select and drag with these 2 folders that are put into the Target folder. It gives screenshot 2. That is where the bug appears. You can easily see that the 9 bookmarks and 3 folders of the second folder called (FIRST) MIKE FREMONT ARE NOT ANYMORE INSIDE THIS SECOND FOLDER!!! IT IS A VERY NASTY BUG.
--1st method (cut and paste). With this method, no problem at all. See the result with screenshot 3 and compare screenshot 2 (the bug) and screenshot 3 (no bug).
As you clearly see in screenshot 3, the 9 bookmarks and 3 folders of the second folder are, as they should be, in this second folder.
I do hope that you will be able to see the issue (a bug) that I have!
For this bookmarks sidebar, I have the "Show sidebars" button that I can press to see this left bookmarks sidebar appear.
You can also use the menu options to make it appear. Do View, Sidebar, and tick Bookmarks.
Let me know if at least you understand better this issue and if you have been able to reproduce this bug?
END.
screenshot 1: I select 2 folders (---01.20... with no bookmarks in it) and ( (FIRST) MIKE FREMONT...) with bookmarks in it and I will DRAG these 2 folders into Target - 1.jpg
screenshot 2: Once I selected and dragged 2 folders into the Target folder - 2.jpg
screenshot 3: This time I moved the 2 folders by doing a cut and paste and see the bookmarks and 3 folders still inside the folder (FIRST) MIKE FREMONT - 3.jpg

Thanks for the pics. I've had no trouble visualizing the problem; I just cannot reproduce it on FF v142.0.1/Win11. So all I have left to suggest is report it as a possible bug at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi/.
