Problem was that some update emptied the firefox folder under snap and overwrote with fresh content. I don't know, if Mozilla's or Ubuntu's bug. Copying the folder from backup helped.
same thing, two computers, Kubuntu 22.4 and 24.10, both updated Firefox to 131.0.3-1,3 years lost, passwords and bookmarks and history from 2021 appeared.
