I think this is part of search engines using Opensearch, Firefox on desktop has it, Chromium desktop and Android has it, old Firefox has it, would be cool to Firefox for Android to add it.
Any updates on this issue? I want to use an external download manager but every time I want to download something I get a prompt without a way to make it a default.
