Current major version notifications switch fullscreen applications to windowed mode

Thunderbird:Since we are on this latest major version, every time when I get a notification about a new e-mail it causes my fullscreen application (e.g. a game) to go windowed and out of focus.This is super frustrating and wasnt before.
