Yes. Seems like a needless extra step to open a group to add to it. If I feel I made a mistake, I can always open the group afterward to verify the page is in the correct group.
Why can't I add a new tab to an existing tab group with drag and drop? It's more functional to create a bookmark folder instead. Then I can add related content as I research.
