The unofficial solution (the add-on) just don't cut it and an official feature is "in review" for so long that I don't know if Mozilla has any actual intention to solve the issue at this point.
The lack of PWA is quite frustrating. It has been a while since PWAs is among the top requested features. I hope it gets pushed into development soon as it would greatly improve FF.
