The 'switch to new tab' delay could be designed to auto switch if delay is zero, i.e., the prompt never appears, thus meeting both needs.

I read recently that Google is producing a tablet again.  While their tab may be a ChromeTab, they might have to make some changes to Android so it isn't so phone-centric.  And hopefully websites and FireFox will adapt to changes.

@Andre001, A persistent desktop mode setting would have to be device dependent is you use Firefox on your phone and sync settings.

There's an interesting conflict here. Samsung, maybe the largest Android tablet maker, presents tablets as big phones. When I was browsing for a new tab recently on Samsung's site I was in desktop mode and the site says absolutely hosed. I couldn't c...
