You know, it never would have occurred to me to ask for this as a feature. But it would save me many instances of opening an editor just to find this very information.
I could use this functionality. For those operating in the meantime, have a look at the 'Tab Session Manager' add-on. It allows you to easily save all or part of what you currently have open (including multiple windows) for later restoration.
