I agree that having this configurable would be quite nice. I have the issue that the sidebar blocks content in the page because I accidentally hovered over it (Dev console which is right side vertical, azure dev ops which has a left-side vertical nav...
I struggle often with the tab opening and blocking other content because I passed over it by accident. I would like a longer delay as well - but it being configurable would solve this for all.
