It's been back for quite a long time Go to settings - General/Address Bar and change the TOOLBAR BUTTON setting to 'Home' from 'New Tab'.That will replace the '+' to in the centre of the toolbar .

I use Firefox Desktop and iPhone . If the home button remains absent I may have to switch to using a different phone browser .please bring it back ASAP OR give us the choice to have it available from settings KISS keep it simple stupid ☺️
