When I say "an active meditation", I'm not talking about closing my eyes. I'm talking about keeping my eyes open, watching the road, and having a directed conversation with myself following specific steps that are presented using speech synthesis. This is no more dangerous than having a conversation with a person in the passenger seat. However, there are specific problems with trying to use speech recognition using a phone. Phones automatically require pushing a button or otherwise keeping the channel open for voice recognition over a period of time.

According to every AI engine that I've consulted, this is not possible in general. So I solved that by using Velcro to attach a gamepad to the dashboard beside the radio. This enables me to progress from prompt to prompt by pressing a button. At home, on my computer, I can use voice recognition to progress from point to point for meditations that require closing your eyes. These include hypnosis and other forms of meditation that do not qualify as "active meditations." The word "active" means a great deal in this use case. You are absolutely wrong in your interpretation, and in your subsequent thoughts about it. I'm not talking about driving with my eyes closed. I'm talking about progressing from step to step in a conversation with myself in a graceful manner.

Using the gamepad allows the web app to prompt me verbally without me taking my eyes of the road to look at a screen and glance at the prompt. People who use a google map without voice synthesis are being more dangerous than me.
